SHE’S NOT A PAIN IN THE
ASS
{Main letter, letterhead
stationary, 2 pages}
She’s An Ass
In Pain
Dear Friend,
Kitty arrived at our rescue
barn pregnant, abused, and malnourished. Her health and the
health of her unborn foal were in grave
danger.
Quite honestly, we didn’t think she could
she survive delivering her baby. And if she did, we
were sure her foal’s chances of survival were
slim.
Kitty needed an enormous amount of care to
help her through the trauma of suffering and neglect that
she had endured. She was severely
malnourished and needed a specialized diet to build her up
to the point where she could properly nourish her unborn
foal.
The food, medicine, specialized care, and
veterinarian bills cost thousands of dollars, but it all
paid off when one rainy, windy morning I went out to the
barn and to my surprise there was Kitty’s healthy newborn
baby donkey!
I couldn’t help but jump up and down,
cheering the good work Kitty did. She foaled a
beautiful baby jenny that we named Windy, after the weather
conditions of that exciting morning.
Will the next donkey we help have the same chance as
Kitty?
The answer to that question largely
depends on your generosity and compassion. For sure, without
generous donations from people like you that want to help a
distressed animal in need, we likely would have lost both
Kitty and Windy.
However, because of your support to
Save Your Ass Long Ear Rescue, Kitty and
Windy are happy and healthy and will be adopted out to a
safe, loving home where they’ll be treated with the respect
all living creatures deserve.
I am writing you today because we need
your help if we’re to continue rehabilitating these
beautiful animals. Without the necessary
funding, we have no choice but to decline taking possession
of them.
Here are some of the things your
tax-deductible donation will help us
accomplish:
-
A gift of $100 will pay for the farrier to repair
the hooves and heal the feet for 4 donkey
or mules for 2 full month
-
A $250 donation will pay for veterinary bills to
restore the health and well being of one
donkey
-
Your $500 donation can buy enough grain and hay to
provide the proper nutrition to malnourished mules
and donkeys we take into the rescue for one
month
Without
these and other vital services, donkeys like Kitty and
Windy could never survive.
I am asking you, today, to help continue
our efforts and make a gift to the Save Your Ass Long
Ear Rescue. Your donation is 100% tax-deductible.**
But, you must send your gift by December
31st to qualify for an income tax deduction
for 2008.
Your ongoing commitment to the Save
Your Ass Long Ear Rescue will give us the means
to save the lives of so many abused donkeys and mules that
will come to our rescue facility
Complete the enclosed reply form today to
take advantage of the tax-deductible
donation. An
envelope is provided for your

You have my personal thanks for your most

generous gift today.
Sincerely,
Ann Firestone
