Marketing
Probably the most difficult part of writing an email is getting
readers to open it. Then once they open it, you need to
keep their interest so they don't quickly click the delete
button.
This
can be difficult and tricky. It takes attractive subject
lines to get the reader to open the emails. And then, you
need compelling copy to keep the interest of the reader so that
they follow through with what you want them to do.
To
accomplish this, you must fulfill the 4 components
that make an email effective:
- It's imperative to have a
friendly and caring tone. You want the reader to feel
like you understand him and his needs.
2. The
email must focus on the reader and not the
writer.
3. It's written
to only one person, from one person. You don't want
to write your email to a large group of people. You
need to keep it very personal.
4. Keep the
email to one big idea. To keep the reader
focused and engaged on your topic, it's necessary to stay to
one big idea.
